Picture this: Max-sitting on the arm of an armchair watching Wonder Pets and shrieking, using his head voice. Joe-sitting on the ground, screaming like he might die if he doesn't get his chubby little hands on his favorite stuffed turtle. Ashley-on the computer, desperately searching for a suitable alternate to oregano so she can get Sunday dinner in the slow cooker. Carl-calmly building a train track for Max, using Max's newest piece of track, Tidmouth Sheds. Amidst this craziness, the following conversation ensues:
Carl: It sounds like somebody needs a nap.
Ashley: Yep.
Max, screaming: Nooooooo!!!!
Carl: Not you.
Max, using inside voice: Oh, Joe.
Carl: Yes. Joe needs a nap.
Max: Okay.
For some reason I thought this little exchange was hilarious. Max is growing up so quickly and I think this conversation put everything in perspective. Yes, Max is getting bigger and growing up so quickly but he is still a little boy who needs a daily nap.

maybe if you put a little Parmesan cheese on his covers it will make the nap more appetizing as well???
